Japanese kanji 左様なら / kana さようなら :

  • 左様なら / さようなら (sayōnara) means "if it be thus", "if it is to be that way", "so let it be"
    • 左様 / さよう (sayō) means "thus, that way"
      • 左 / さ (sa) means "that"
      • 様 / よう () means "appearance, way" (from Chinese yang)
    • なら / なら (nara) means "if, if it be"
