From [[w:Template:lang:la language|Template:lang:la]][[Category:Template:lang:la derivations]] Africa, from Afri, the ancient Carthagenian tribe of Northern Africa named after Άφρος (Afros), a character in Greek mythology, king of Λιβύη (Libya) and son of Κρόνος (Kronos) and Φιλύρα (Filyra). Adjective form with suffix -ic, -icus, -ikos, related to Afars.
