Etymology

Named by Dutch explorers Pieter Dirkszoon Keyser and Frederick de Houtman between 1595 and 1597. From [[w:Template:lang:it language|Template:lang:it]][[Category:Template:lang:it derivations]] dorato, ultimately from [[w:Template:lang:la language|Template:lang:la]][[Category:Template:lang:la derivations]] deauratus, the past participle of deaurō, "to gild"
