Once we realize that imperfect understanding is the human condition, there is no shame in being wrong, only in failing to correct our mistakes.

English

Etymology

From [[w:Template:lang:la language|Template:lang:la]][[Category:Template:lang:la derivations]] bonus (good).

Because Latin has gender, this would mean "a good man (male)". Properly formed, the word should be bonum (neuter gender), meaning "a good thing". This would be parallel to the many other neuter gender words adopted into English, like maximum, minimum, premium, optimum. Its plural would then be bona. See also bona fide.
