Etymology

From Middle English plage < [[w:Template:lang:la language|Template:lang:la]][[Category:Template:lang:la derivations]] plāga (blow, wound). Cognate with Dutch plaag, German Plage, Swedish plåga, French plaie and Polish plaga.
