Ukrainian писанка (pýsanka) < писати (pysáty), to write), referring to writing on an egg with a stylus in a wax-resist dyeing process, < Proto-Slavic *pĭsati, related to *pĭstrŭ (feathered), + Ukrainian feminine ending -ка (-ka)
