  • suola- (genitive singular stem of suola) + -ta

suolata (stem suola-*)

  1. to salt (to add salt to).
  2. to preserve in salt.
  3. to spread salt on the ground (esp. on a road surface to prevent it from freezing in the winter).
  4. (colloquial) To kill by shooting several shots or by a shotgun.
